Minister and Mentor: The life and ministry of a West Texas preacher

Born into a farming family in 1922, Lenard Hartley began his life’s journey as a farmer. He was saved at age 10 in a small church in Aiken, Texas, ordained as a deacon at age 19, and surrendered to the ministry at the age of 28. He preached his first sermon on Easter Sunday one week after surrendering to the ministry. Brother Lenard has been the pastor of eight different churches in Texas. He has also been very active in mission work and crusades overseas in Brazil, the Philippines, Indonesia, and others, having been in 19 foreign countries. His leadership of congregations and ministries through the years has certainly benefited the kingdom of God. Because of his love for mentoring others, his influence will be felt decades after the Lord calls him home.
